On February 27, 2026, SafeβChild Advocacy (SCA) held a workshop for a diverse group of learners from our formal education programme, ranging from Primary to Senior High School. The session, themed βConfidence with Courtesy: Expressing Myself the Right Way,β took place at the Dropβin Centre. This workshop is part of SCAβs ongoing series designed to equip Child Rights Champions with the confidence and skills needed to serve as positive role models in their schools and communities.
The workshop featured lively discussions, with participants actively engaging and contributing throughout the session. It was facilitated by the full SCA staff team, together with ConPAHT β Talitha Kum Ghana, who delivered a powerful message on human trafficking to the 35 participants present.
The Human Resource Manager of SCA, Mr. Akwasi Prempeh, explored the theme in depth using videos, images, and a PowerPoint presentation. He emphasized Assertive Communication as the foundation of the theme, underscoring how it helps young people express themselves clearly, confidently, and respectfully.
Mr. Prempeh further built on the topic by introducing practical communication techniquesβcourteous alternative expressions, appropriate tone, positive gestures, and confident body languageβwhile still maintaining respect in every interaction. Participantsβ feedback was encouraging and reflected a strong understanding of the concepts shared.
The workshop also aimed to empower participants to speak out boldly against abuse and exploitation, while still upholding courtesy and respect in their communication.
A breakout session followed the main presentation, allowing participants to deepen their understanding of the theme and apply the lessons learned through practical exercises.
