Safe‑Child Advocacy Honours Sr. Olivia Umoh, DC on Her 60th Birthday

On Tuesday, 3rd February 2026, Safe‑Child Advocacy of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi joyfully celebrated the 60th birthday of our Director, Rev. Sr. Olivia Umoh, DC. The occasion also became a delightful, shared celebration with Mrs. Martha Azuma, Headteacher of St. Peter’s R/C JHS, whose birthday falls a day before Sr. Olivia’s.

For the past 15 years, Sr. Olivia has served Safe‑Child Advocacy with distinction, guiding the organization with deep compassion, vision, and commitment. She also recently marked her 40th anniversary as a Catholic sister, a testament to a lifetime devoted to service and leadership.

Her academic and professional journey spans several countries, with advanced qualifications in Human Growth and Development, Pastoral Ministry, Enculturation, and Pastoral Care & Counseling. She also holds Master’s degrees from Duquesne University, USA, and KNUST, Ghana, supported by extensive international training in leadership, advocacy, and human development.

Sr. Olivia currently holds three major leadership roles:

  • Director for Safe‑Child Advocacy, Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi.
  • National Coordinator for ConPAHT–Talitha Kum Ghana, and
  • Director of the Directorate for Prevention of Domestic Violence and Child Protection, Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi.

Her unwavering dedication to protecting vulnerable children and combating human suffering has established her as a respected advocate, educator, and administrator.

The celebration brought together priests, religious sisters, and staff from Good Shepherd Preparatory School and St. Peter’s R/C JHS. The event featured cake cutting, champagne popping, dancing, presentation of gifts, and heartfelt well‑wishes — all contributing to a warm and memorable occasion.

Safe‑Child Advocacy proudly honours Rev. Sr. Olivia Umoh, DC, for her remarkable leadership, lifelong service, and transformative impact on the lives of children, families, and communities. We also extend our warm congratulations to Mrs. Martha Azuma on her special day.
