Safe-Child Advocacy (SCA) has officially commenced our 2026 work year with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to serving children, youth, and women in vulnerable situations. On Monday, 12th January 2026, the two units of SCA—the Drop-in Centre and St. Vincent de Paul Day Care—opened their doors for the year under the leadership of Sr. Olivia Umoh, DC, Executive Director of SCA.
The session began with a heartfelt prayer led by Ms. Eugenia Akoto-Mensah, emphasizing unity and collaboration among staff as we embark on a new year of service.
“Do not seek your own interest but the interest of others,” a principle that truly resonates with the work we do for those in vulnerable situations.
Staff reflected on the question:
“How am I coming into work this year 2026?”
Responses included:
“I feel motivated,” “I feel inspired,” “I feel energized,” “I feel happy,” “I feel strongly connected to the team.”
Team members shared positive attributes about each colleague, fostering a spirit of appreciation and collaboration. Each staff member received a personal diary to record milestones throughout the year, inspired by Habakkuk 2:2:
“Write the vision and make it plain”.
Follow our journey throughout 2026 as we continue to impact lives.
