SCA Hosts Webinar to mark world Refugee Day 2025

Safe-Child Advocacy is thrilled to announce our upcoming webinar, which marks World Refugee Day on Friday, 20th June, 2025.

The theme for this year’s webinar is: “FROM STRANGERS TO NEIGHBOURS: FOSTERING INCLUSIVE COMMUNITIES FOR REFUGEE WELL-BEING.” The webinar will take place on Friday 20th June 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM GMT.

World Refugee Day was established in 2001 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1951 Refugee Convention, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was established in 1950 in the wake of World War II to help people displaced by the conflict.

This day is an urgent reminder to help focus global attention on the plight of those fleeing conflict or persecution, raise awareness, advocate for change, and promote meaningful inclusion.

It also shines a light on the rights, needs, and dreams of refugees, helping to mobilize resources so refugees can not only survive but thrive.

In a panel discussion, we will explore:

  •      a. Effective ways to foster connections between refugees and host communities.
  •       b. Policy changes that could improve refugee integration and access to essential services.
