Safe – Child Advocacy (SCA) and Talitha Kum Ghana participated in a five-day workshop on Advocacy Against Early and Child Marriage and Domestic Servitude from 2nd to 6th September 2024, at Sunyani Catholic Pastoral Centre, Sunyani Diocese.

The life-changing workshop was organized by Africa Faith and Justice Network – Ghana, a faith based Catholic Organization with the sole aim of speaking for the voiceless. Under the leadership of Sr. Ignatia S. Buaben, National coordinator, and with distinguished speakers like Very Rev. Fr. Peter Okure Aniedi, General promoter for Justice and Peace, and Permanent Delegate to United Nations and Ms. Glennan Lois Boakye – Yiadom, astute Lawyer and member of Ghana Bar Association.

The workshop opened our eyes to the devastating impact these harmful practices have on young girls and women: and it further provided valuable training that equipped our team with essential knowledge about the laws and resources available for protecting girls, boys and women from these heinous practices.

In attendance were over sixty (60) participants, comprising of religious men and women, social impact organizations, parents and youth advocates.
Safe-Child Advocacy and ConPAHT Talitha Kum Ghana is poised at leveraging this knowledge and skills to reinforce our organizations commitment to uphold the dignity of humanity and combat human exploitation through advocacy, awareness creation, networking, capacity building and support services for victims and survivors.

We sincerely thank the National Coordinator for Africa Faith and Justice Network – Ghana, Sr. Ignatia S. Buaben for organizing such an impactful workshop. And a special appreciation to the facilitator, Very Rev. Fr. Peter Aniedi Okure, General promoter for Justice and Peace, and Permanent Delegate to the United Nations.
