“Small actions lead to big changes. On World Environment Day, let’s commit to turning off lights when not in use, conserving water, and reducing waste. Together we can create a sustainable future!!!”

As an advocate for children, youth, and women in the street and other vulnerable situations, we highlight that our environment is crucial to catering for the young and unborn generations. Our commitment to the vulnerable also extends to how we act as stewards of our environment which suffers from the effects of ozone depletion, pollution, and changing weather patterns.

As part of efforts to commemorate this day, we at SCA have organized an intensive clean-up exercise to commemorate this occasion. We take this opportunity to call on everyone as a matter of urgency, to consciously help preserve the environment by avoiding littering, engaging in responsible waste collection, avoiding energy wastage by switching gadgets off when not in use, cleaning our vicinity and gutters regularly, and championing all acts that promote the serenity of our environment.

Nature is our greatest teacher, and it’s time we listen. Join us this World Environment Day (June 5 and beyond) in reconnecting with the natural world. Take a walk, plant a tree, or simply enjoy the beauty around us. Let’s cherish and protect our planet!
