Safe-Child Advocacy organized workshop on Safeguarding for a cross-section of beneficiaries, namely, those in the SCA formal education scheme. Participants at this workshop were young persons sponsored by SCA to access formal education from Upper primary to Senior Secondary school.

 

This workshop was one of many activities lined up by SCA.to mark International Day for Street Connected Children 2024. The workshop was focused on Child Rights Champions. The forum was used to help participants in also self-building.
Participants were empowered on Safeguarding for Children and Youths, Self-Awareness, Building Self Esteem, and developing Public Speaking Skills.
Focus group discussion was used to engage participants. Discussions centered around various topics relating with Safeguarding. These includes discrimination and belonging. Participants shared their experiences after which each group presented their findings on a flip chart. Over forty participants ranging from upper primary to Senior High School were present.
In all, the program was insightful and highly educative. Participants expressed in the evaluation of the programme that they felt educated and empowered. 
SCA, is able to support young persons from vulnerable backgrounds access formal education thanks to KZE/Misereor, Adamfo Ghana, Wilde Ganzen, and a host of others who form our funding base. Over 200 youngsters from very challenging backgrounds are supported to access formal education.
