It was indeed a beautiful moment as we graduated eleven (11) of our trainees last Saturday, February 3, 2024
. They included 9 Dressmaking and 2 Hairdressing trainees who sat for the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) examination in October last year and came out with flying colors.
This made it the eight (8th) graduation ceremony held in the Saint Louise de Marillac Vocational Training Centre, Appaidu to promote young girls who have successfully completed their Vocational Training at the Center. The facility is an offshoot of Safe-Child Advocacy, Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi, but, owned and managed by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul,
Outstanding among other dignitaries present, was the chief and queen mother of Appiadu Traditional council Odefour Yaw Barima (II) and Nana Amonu Gyamfuaah (I), Rev. Fr. Joseph Louise Antwi Boasiako rector of Christ the Teacher College of Education, and the Assistant Parish Priest of St. Paul’s Catholic Church Appiadu.
Also, the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary aspirant for Ooforikrom Constituency, Mr. Mike Aidoo, the Assembly Member for Emena, Appiadu, Kokoben Electoral area and some members of the media were present as well.
The graduands were awarded NVTI certificate and set-up kits to start up their businesses in their various trades. Dressmaking graduands received sewing machines and other a whiles Hairdressing graduands received Hairdryers, Washing basin, and other tools and materials to facilitate their startup. Relatives and friends of graduands witnessed the August occasion.
