Workers’ Day 2026: Honouring the People Behind Safe‑Child Advocacy’s Work with Street‑Connected Children

Today, on Workers’ Day, we pause to celebrate the people who make Safe‑Child Advocacy (SCA) what it is — the men and women whose daily work brings hope where there is pain and dignity where there is neglect.
Every day, our teams meet children on the streets, listen to their stories, walk with them through counseling, learning, and healing, and support families and communities toward safer futures. Through education, skills training, early childhood care, advocacy, and protection work, we continue to stand with children, youth, and women in street and other vulnerable situations — not as numbers, but as people with dreams and potential.
This year, we were especially moved as we marked the International Day for Street Children, raising our voices once again to say Protect, Not Punish, and reminding society to listen to the voices of street‑connected children. We are also deeply grateful for the awards and recognitions SCA received this year, which affirm that the quiet, committed work of compassion and justice truly matters.
Above all, today is about people. We honour our founders, management, staff, and volunteers — those seen and unseen — who give their time, energy, skills, and hearts to make this mission possible. Your work may not always be easy, but it is meaningful, and its impact is lasting.
Thank you for showing up, for caring, and for believing that every child deserves a safe childhood.
Happy Workers’ Day from the Safe‑Child Advocacy family. 🙏🏽💙
