Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Louise de Marillac community Kumasi marked the feast day of St. Patrick in style on Sunday March 16, 2025, at St. Louise de Marillac Vocational Training Centre. The event was attended by about hundred (100) people including beneficiaries living at St. Louise de Marillac community and some special guests who were invited to witness the celebration. This global celebration of Irish culture is held on 17th March annually, to commemorate the feast day of Saint Patrick, Ireland’s patron saint.

The event, a first of its kind at the vocational training center, showcased a vibrant display of Irish, Vietnamese, German, and African cultures, accompanied by a sumptuous party. It was spearheaded by volunteers of Vincentian Lay Missionaries who are working at Safe- Child Advocacy, Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi for six (6) weeks and was actively supported by Daughters of Charity sisters serving at Safe- Child Advocacy and St. Louise de Marillac Vocational Training Centre.

The highlight of the event was a lively performance of the traditional Irish dance, “The Waves of Tory” https://youtu.be/KE9HaC5OPPk?si=wAbQmSc6mBSMbo_f (Rince Thoraí), which originated from Tory Island in Ireland.
