Ending Gender-Based Violence: Protecting Women, Safeguarding Children, Building Safer Communities

World Day Against Gender-Based Violence is observed annually on November 25. The United Nations officially recognizes this day as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. It serves as a powerful global call to action to end violence against women and girls in all its forms.

This year, Safe-Child Advocacy reflects on the global theme: “UNiTE to End Violence Against All Women and Girls.” We join the international community in raising awareness of the urgent crisis of gender-based violence (GBV), which continues to affect millions of women and girls worldwide.

The repercussions of gender-based violence extend far beyond women and girls. Every child is affected. Violence within the home, in particular, influences the attitudes of boys, who may grow up to become perpetrators of abuse if preventive measures are not taken.

In a society where domestic gender-based violence has become increasingly prevalent, Safe-Child Advocacy calls on state agencies, community leaders, and the general public to unite in eliminating this pervasive violation of human rights. Together, we can build safer homes, stronger communities, and a future free from violence.
