Future golf stars shine at Captain One Junior Tournament

We were thrilled to have our girls participate in this year’s Captain One Golf Society Junior Tournament. It was amazing seeing the girls exhibit their golfing skills which they have perfected in the last year through rigorous practice sessions. We are proud of our dear Zakia who emerged winner of the tournament. It is remarkable seeing our beneficiaries making strides in the golfing world and we are honoured to be a part of their journey.

Thanks to the Captain One Golf Society for supporting our vision and helping our girls build expertise in this game which used to be reserved for the elite in society.Zakia, a special congratulations to you. We look forward to many more opportunities to support and cheer our girls on.

Team-Building Workshop for Staff.

Team-Building Workshop for Staff.

Management of Safe-Child Advocacy, Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi organized a team-building workshop for staff on Wednesday, 11th January 2022 on the theme “Building a Successful Team” to prepare and equip the team to deliver quality services and achieve success in the 2023 work year. The session began with an icebreaker facilitated by the Programs Manager, Jessica Deh, where staff shared how they spent their Christmas holidays. It was fascinating to hear staff share their experiences on how they celebrated Christmas. It was a great opportunity for bonding for the staff after a long break and set the tone for the workshop.

The team further was grouped into three (3) according to the various Centres of operation i.e., the Drop-in Centre, Daycare Centre, and Vocational Training Centre to engage in a group discussion on building a successful work team. The various Centres, as part of the discussions, set their aspirations or goals for the year and made individual commitments towards their achievement. The team also looked at some possible challenges that may hinder the achievement of their goals and proposed measures to mitigate such limitations to ensure that they achieve success at the end of the year.

This exercise offered an opportunity for great learning for staff and prepared their minds towards working to achieve the success of the institution in 2023.

Team building workshops are great ways to create a strong bond between team members and improve team dynamics, especially when starting a new work year.

Staff Retreat to kick start work year 2023

Staff Retreat to kick start work year 2023

At SCA, our organizational culture is to open the work year with a retreat and celebration of Mass. We had a wonderful retreat today at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Krofom, Kumasi-Ghana. The theme of the retreat was “Unity in Diversity”. It gave us the opportunity to step back, meditate, and refocus as we begin our new work year in the eyes of the Lord.

We were blessed to have Fr. Richard Opoku, the parish priest of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, guide us through discussions and reflections to appreciate each other’s role in working towards our goal as an organization. The reflections also helped us to recognize our strengths and weakness from the past year which helped us resonate and plan for the new work year. The retreat was concluded with the celebration of mass.

The retreat has helped us reconnect as a team and reinforce ourselves to make a more significant impact in the lives of our target group.

Peace and blessings,
